The Damage Prevention & Safety Committee serves to educate, support and spread information to the TGA Membership on current rules, best practices and ideas on bettering their damage prevention & safety goals, upcoming regulations and implementation of those items.

The Damage Prevention & Safety Committee plans and implements one roundtable during the year to share ideas.  They also have classes in cooperation with the Employee Development Committee geared to the damage prevention & safety needs of the membership.

TGA Safety Awards 2026 - *** NOW CLOSED for Nominees ***

Each year, TGA is proud to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements in safety across our industry at the TGA Annual Conference. This year, we’re excited to announce some additional changes to our TGA Safety Awards — and we’re looking forward to your support and feedback as we continue to grow and evolve this tradition.

Safety Award Categories for 2026

We’ve expanded our awards to better reflect the range of dedication and contributions made across experience levels and safety practices:

    • Honors individuals with less than 10 years in the industry who show exceptional commitment to safety.

  • Lifetime Safety Distinction

    • Recognizes long-time champions of workplace safety and health practices.

  • Meritorious Safety Award

    • This longstanding award remains and continues to recognize exemplary acts or safety leadership.

  • Hazard Identification Award

    • Rewards employees who take proactive steps to identify and report potential hazards or near-misses before incidents occur.

  • NEW! Trainer of the Year Award

    • Honors an employee who demonstrates exceptional skill, dedication, and leadership in delivering effective safety training.
